Eversource Vegetation Management

Announcement

Eversource is required to perform Vegetation Management activities that support the safe, reliable delivery of electricity along the transmission grid, including the ability to access equipment at all times.  Vegetation contact with electric facilities may lead to power outages that could impact thousands of electric customers. The clearing of incompatible vegetation in and along the right of way improves system performance, especially during severe weather events.

Following the Commonwealth of Massachusetts regulations (220 CMR 22.00), Eversource is providing you notice of planned vegetation maintenance work on the transmission right of way (ROW) that is located within your town or city limits during 2020.

The planned maintenance will include floor cutting, side pruning, and the selective removal of hazard trees that are located along or just beyond the right of way edge.

Property owners along the transmission corridor (ROW) where this work is planned to occur will be receiving letters and door hanger notices informing them of the work under state regulations.

As required by the regulations, you are being informed of this work through this document. We are also required to submit the notice through the mail and you will receive a letter.

Attached is a map that denotes the location of the right of way where the work will occur.

If you have any questions on the planned vegetation work, please contact Marcia Wellman, the Siting & Construction Services Project Manager responsible for working with municipal officials on behalf of Vegetation Management at 860. 728.4547 or marcia.wellman@gmail.com.
