MBTA SERVICE CHANGES

.

The MBTA Community Engagement team is reaching out to provide an update on the Forging Ahead initiative.

The MBTA is implementing service changes in response to the low ridership caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Changes on the bus network and subway system will take place on March 14th, which will include reducing frequency on some bus and subway lines, as well as eliminating, shortening, or combining various bus routes. The Commuter Rail will also undergo additional scheduling changes, starting April 5th.

Ahead of these changes, the MBTA will host two virtual public meetings on February 17th and February 24th, from 6pm to 8pm. These meetings will provide an opportunity for riders to learn more about the changes and ask questions. For more information about the Spring Service Changes and to register for the public meetings, please visit https://www.mbta.com/servicechanges. Folks who are not available to join the public meetings can still ask us questions by registering here for our weekly virtual coffee chats.

More information about the Forging Ahead process can be found at https://www.mbta.com/forging-ahead. In addition, the MBTA has submitted the Forging Ahead changes for environmental review, which can be viewed here.
