Master Plan Committee Volunteers Needed

Volunteer

The Town of East Bridgewater is working with the Old Colony Planning Council on developing a new master plan for East Bridgewater. The last one was created in the 1990s and much has changed during those 30 years.

A master plan is a guide for local public policy and guides projects and initiatives the town would like to work on over the next decade or longer. The creation or update of a master plan allows communities a chance to communicate between local government and residents to reflect on the Town’s strengths, weaknesses, and change over time. It allows residents to express their wants, needs, and hopes for the community.

The Town is looking for volunteers to serve on the Master Plan Committee. Volunteers can be employees of the Town, residents of East Bridgewater, or work in East Bridgewater.

The Committee will likely meet on a monthly (or less frequent) basis during 2024. Committee members will help draft the new Master Plan to be presented to the East Bridgewater Planning Board for approval.

Anyone interested in participating on the Committee can complete the volunteer form at https://www.eastbridgewaterma.gov/sites/g/files/vyhlif516/f/uploads/new_appt_form_1.pdf and send it to Rebecca Johnson at rjohnson@eastbridgewaterma.gov or contact the East Bridgewater Selectboard at 508-378-1601. Deadline to apply is Thursday, January 4, 2024.
