Planning Board Vacancy

.

As part of East Bridgewater’s Annual Town Election on Saturday, May 18, the Town’s voters had the opportunity to elect three individuals to seats on the East Bridgewater Planning Board. Two of the seats were for three-year terms and one seat was for a one-year term. John Lawlor and Myles Heger were elected for the two three-year terms. However, there was a tie between William Nolan and Myles Heger for the one-year term with six votes each.

While Myles Heger was elected to the three-year term, the Town cannot eliminate him from contention for the one-year term and therefore the tie stands and officially there is a “failure to elect”.

As a result, the East Bridgewater Select Board and the East Bridgewater Planning Board will hold a joint meeting on Monday, June 3 at 6:45pm in the 1st floor conference room of the East Bridgewater Town Hall to elect someone to fil the one-year term. The person elected will serve until the next town election on May 17, 2025.

Individuals interested in serving on the Planning Board in this capacity should complete a volunteer form - https://www.eastbridgewaterma.gov/sites/g/files/vyhlif516/f/uploads/new_appt_form_1.pdf - and email it to the Assistant Town Administrator, Rebecca Johnson, at rjohnson@eastbridgewaterma.gov no later than 3pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The form can also be obtained and/or dropped off at the Select Board office in Town Hall.

Please contact the Select Board office at 508-378-1601 with any questions.
